Aly Keïta is one of the great virtuosos of the balafon, the West African xylophone. The Ivorian musician has won countless prizes (including the German Jazz Prize) and adapts the balafon to a wide variety of musical styles in collaboration with artists such as Joe Zawinul, Omar Sosa and Jan Gabarek. Together with the Swiss clarinettist Jan Galega Brönnimann and the Swiss drummer Lucas Niggli, both born in Cameroon, Keïta mixes the traditional African repertoire with Western jazz and African rhythms. This "Brotherhood of Vibes and Grooves" takes the audience on an adventurous ride - from the deepest undergrowth to the great expanses under the African sky and back to Europe.
